My little one is 6 weeks now and I ran across a blog stating that was a common week for a growth spurt and then began out of desperation searching for information for breastfeeding moms and growth spurts. That’s when I found this lovely blog. Thanks for sharing!

Comment on How To Quit Obsessing About Breastfed Baby Weight And Growth Charts by Liza https://breastfeedingconfidential.com/scales-growth-charts-making-sense/#comment-108 Tue, 26 Jul 2022 00:47:12 +0000 https://breastfeedinganswersandsolutions.com/?p=202#comment-108 My baby is exclusively breastfed. She was born term and her weight was 80th percentile. She almost immediately dropped to around the 50th percentile. I had gestational diabetes so I’m wondering if her growth slowed when she was no longer exposed to my high glucose levels in utero. Anyway, she’s been hovering between the 40th and 55th percentile so far and is currently 4 months. Is this considered following her curve?

Comment on What Does a Clogged Duct Feel Like and How to Clear It? by Iris https://breastfeedingconfidential.com/how-to-clear-a-clogged-duct-including-little-known-way/#comment-52 Sun, 22 May 2022 14:07:46 +0000 https://breastfeedinganswersandsolutions.com/?p=626#comment-52 Hi! I’ve been struggling with clogged duct for couple of weeks now (3-4weeks). Baby is 6weeks. I feel like I’ve tried everything and nothing seems to get rid of these ducts. I have one to two big lumps on both breast + small ones, and at times (after massaging with hot shower) it seems like it’s getting smaller but after some time it gets big again. I feel sharp pain in both breast maybe 30-1hr after I pump. my breast and nipple feels really tender and sore almost all the time.

This makes me dread to feed or pump every time… I’ve been pumping or nursing every 3 hrs to increases milk (low supply) and it feels like my supply is getting lower. I feel so discouraged.

Comment on What Does a Clogged Duct Feel Like and How to Clear It? by Jenni https://breastfeedingconfidential.com/how-to-clear-a-clogged-duct-including-little-known-way/#comment-51 Sat, 16 Apr 2022 00:19:05 +0000 https://breastfeedinganswersandsolutions.com/?p=626#comment-51 Hi, I currently EBF my 7 month old. His sessions have been changing due to starting solids. The other morning I woke up with a hard painful area on the bottom of my right breast. I assumed it was a plug and did the usual things (toothbrush massage, heat, pump, nursing, ice pack). The hard spot has gone away but I’m still very sore. My breast feels very soft after nursing sessions so I’m not sure if this is just residual tenderness (although I’ve never had it last this long) or a deep plug, although I don’t know if that’s possible. Any help would be appreciated!

But the most important thing you can give to a new mom is your love and care.
Many new mothers experience some moral difficulties due to hormonal changes, and at this time it is especially important for them to feel your care.
